On June 23rd the world of sport shows the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle with the celebration of OLYMPIC DAY.
This year Karate fans around the world have the opportunity to demonstrate throughout June how active they are joining the movement. Also, by taking part in the 2017 edition of Olympic Day, they will get to show the impact of Karate values.

The WKF is calling all national federation, clubs, dojos and karatekas around the world to get up, participate and spread the many benefits of sport and Karate.

National federations can contribute by organising seminars, arranging meetings of children with top athletes, encouraging their members to try Karate or other sports, and setting up different activities and demonstrations. Dojos and clubs can also be part of the campaign by showing how active they are and how they promote sport in their communities.

All those national federations, dojos and clubs are encouraged to share their initiatives with us at wkf@wkf.net

Chief Referees Report: European Regional Championships Kosovo 2017

Outstanding results for EKF Referees in Kosovo.
Referees from the EKF flew out to Kosovo where the European Regional Championships were being held.

The following referees, after taking their exams achieved the following;
Gary Hoyle Kumite Referee B
Tony Dent Kumite Referee A
Brian Jarvis Kumite Referee A
Nigel Blood Kumite Referee A
Nariman Jeddi Kumite Referee A and Kata Judge A

Chief Referee Dale Gamble was extremely pleased and that it was a fantastic result, 6 referees with new qualifications and 2 referees retaining their qualifications for a further 3 years. This gives 14 English officials with a European qualifications. All the hard work from the referees department team has paid off! This year has been good so far with the 4 qualifications at the recent world premier league and working towards more upgrades at the World championships in Spain later this year.

Kind regards
EKF
